Show Notes:

0:00 – Welcome to the Cozy Minimalism podcast, a bite-sized podcast that helps guide you along the path towards minimalism and creating a beautiful home that supports and nurtures you.

I advocate intentional home styling using what you already own and love; I help you create a truly unique space that becomes your place to relax, unwind and recharge. Your home becomes a source of blessings rather than burdens.

Each episode will be under 5 minutes and will include a mini-mission for you to do within your own home.

0:40 – Hey, hey, hey, It’s Angie Kikstra of Cozy Minimalism.! So, you’re probably wondering…what exactly is Cozy Minimalism? I think this is a really important concept to cover in our very very first podcast.

Cozy Minimalism is a form of minimalism that is warm, welcoming and reflects the people that live in there. A cozy minimalist has discovered the fine line between a cluttered space and a homey space. Cozy Minimalists dislike clutter and the neeeed to have a space that is styled to their liking. We are not just talking about decorating for the sake of decorating, you intentionally decorate your home with items that you already own and love, your home becomes a life-giving space.

There have been studies after studies, after studies about the effect of clutter on our well being. Our home is meant to be the place that we go for a sanctuary, a place away from the world outside. So it is absolutely important that we have a home that supports us in this way. Clutter in your physical space represents clutter and chaos internally. You would not believe the sense of calm that happens when your home becomes your safe haven.

1:56 – My Mission for you this week is to choose at least one surface in your home to minimize. This space will be cleared of clutter and declared a clutter free zone.

For the next week, keep this surface clear of clutter. That’s your only mission. Some of the surfaces that you could choose from are: Your entry table, kitchen counters, dining table, living room coffee table or end tables, bathroom counters, (and my favorite) nightstands in the bedroom.

Choose just one of those and I’d love to hear your comments after you’ve cleared it!

Stop on by facebook and show me how you did! I love to see what impact these missions have!

Do you have intsa? I’m there too!

Thanks for joining me… I look forward to next week. And if you have a pressing question, email me and I might feature your question on this podcast!
